When i started playing, i only did open world pve, i only got couple ascended weapon chest drop from Teq.2 years and a bit back i went to WvW to get gift of battle for legendary and loved it there.Now I mainly do WvW and have so many ascended armor/weapon boxes and rings dropped there.

Depends on the weight class, Light armor costs 500g for the damask bolts alone (it's the most expensive component though.) I made a spread sheet a while ago to calculate it. For heavy you're looking at around 70g per piece, depends if you make the insignia/damask yourself.
As with all trinkets, Living World Season 3 (and to some extent now 4) are your best approach:Throw this into the Mystic Forge: The item you're stat changing. 5 Globs of Ectoplasm. 1 Anthology of Heroes (bought from Miyani) The exotic Inscription (for weapons) or Insignia (armor) of the stat you want to change to. That last one is the only difficult part. For Viper's, you'll need to buy the recipe for a Viper's Orichalcum Imbued To infuse rings, for example, you throw the ring along with the 3 different types of FotM-exclusive ascended crafting mats (they only drop from fractals), always named xxx Mist Essence. This adds an "agony infusion" slot to the item, which you can then place one of the agony specific infusions into.
Worst-case scenario you're looking at replacing 466 stats with Precision.
