The new 1.0 tsi engine cars seem to be around £10000 used so going for 1.2tsi. Also I would like a car without much mileage. I've decided to not bother with monte Carlo range either as you seem to pay more for the outside look than whats on the inside and go for a 1.2 tsi with the SE trim. At approx 20,000 miles I am seeing cars in 7 grand range. Assuming the new 1.5-liter engine would give the sedan an efficiency boost of about 10 percent, we could be looking at 33/44/37 EPA numbers for city/highway/combined for the Jetta. Actually they both have. 1.8 TSI has a name in consuming oil - some say that 1l per 1000 km is quite common thing. 1.4 TSI has a problems with a timing chain rattle, 1.4 TSI also do consume some oil. All TSI consumes. E.g. mine 1.4 TSI 90 kW needs ~2-3 l per 10k km. Just look for a car with as low mileage as you can and with a full service history.

1.4 & 1.5 TSI's or some 1.8 TSI or 1.6TDI's with DQ200 DSG's is something a buyer of those might want to research a bit further. 2009-2012/13 Service Campaign '34F7', 2013-2015 '34H5', and 2015 -2018 some issues and TPI's, Clutch Pack Upgrades and Software Upgrades required by some a ongoing issue that many Dealership or Customer Services staff
