While there are a range of issues mentioned here Skoda do make reliable cars just as VW and SEAT do…because much of the mechanical bits are the same. Issues with DPFs and gearboxes maybe well be down to the sheet number sold rather than common occurrence because some other brands simply sell less diesels and automatics.
The combination of the 1.5 TSI engine and DSG gearbox is a match made in heaven. The vehicle offers both smoothness and impressive power. I've also experienced the 1.0 TSI engine, and I find the 1.5 TSI to be more refined. The car effortlessly maintains speeds of 120 km/h, and it can be a challenge to keep it below that due to the remarkable Volkswagen Passat vs Volkswagen Tiguan Compare price, expert/user reviews, mpg, engines, safety, cargo capacity and other specs at a glance. Buy another Subaru. seriously. you know their quirks by now. they rattle and they're not as refined as some german vw econbox with excellent quality plastics on teh interior, but shit, I've owned 4 subarus, and every one of them was more awesome and more reliable than my vw. Spend 12-14k on a good impreza, say, 06 and be done with it! But Audi/Volkswagen/Skoda etc are as good a bet as any. Only Toyota/Lexus are more reliable. In 2003, the Volkswagen Group introduced what is known as the EA188 PD, or “Pumpe Duse” direct injection, with a Garett turbo.
I am sure the Jetta is one of the least sold VW's in Europe. VW's are considered quite reasonable cars, especially where I am from, Denmark.
